“Follow the Leader: Prominent Female Politicians and the Emergence of Women Candidates for Public Office"

Dr. Jason Windett’s paper, “Follow the Leader: Prominent Female Politicians and the Emergence of Women Candidates for Public Office,” presented at the 2016 Annual Midwest Political Science Association Conference in Chicago, received the State Politics and Policy Quarterly Award in 2017.  The American Political Science Association section on State Politics and Policy gives this award for the best paper presented at any professional meeting in the previous calendar year. Professor Windett’s co-authors are Christina Ladam (Ph.D. candidate at University of Colorado Boulder) and Jeffrey J. Harden (Associate Professor of Political Science at Notre Dame). Jason Windett is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration.
